Terms of sale
These terms apply when your business buys DossierForge.
Version 2026-11-03. These terms apply to every purchase made from the day this version is published.
Use your browser's print command to print these terms or save them as a PDF.
Who these terms are for
These terms apply between your business and Skoft Software. Skoft Software is the trade name of Rubèn Plantinga, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) at Loosduinseweg 297a, 2571 AD Den Haag, Netherlands, registered with the Kamer van Koophandel under 42097143.
DossierForge is sold only to businesses. By ordering you confirm that you buy for your business, trade or profession.
How the contract is made
The contract is concluded when your payment goes through. The steps before that and how to correct your entries are on the legal page.
The contract is concluded in English.
What Skoft Software supplies
Skoft Software supplies the DossierForge software, information from the legal sources it is built on and the preparation of documents from your answers.
You review the documents, make the decisions they record and sign them. The scope, category and route the software shows are suggestions from your answers for you to review and decide on.
Support helps you operate the software. It gives no legal opinion on your product.
Your licence
A One-time purchase gives your business the right to install and use DossierForge for the number of products you paid for. The right has no end date. Skoft Software keeps the copyright. You may not sell, rent or license copies of DossierForge to others, except by passing the licence on as set out below.
The rights the law gives every user stay yours: to make a backup copy, to study how the software works and to make it work with other programs.
What a licence does and does not keep:
- A One-time purchase keeps the rules it came with. You can keep drafting and copying the documents you made with them, offline and for as long as you like.
- New final documents need rules that are still current. With One-time, the app makes new final documents for about six months after its rules were last checked. Copies of documents you already made keep their original date.
- Maintain updates your rules and runs the scheduled vulnerability checks while the subscription runs. Updates and checks stop when the subscription ends. A One-time purchase you bought separately stays yours.
- Security and compatibility updates reach every licence state, including the free preview.
- If we refund a purchase, that licence stops working the next time the app reaches our licence service.
Passing a licence on
Inside the EU and the EEA you may pass a One-time licence on to another business. Hand over the licence key, stop using DossierForge under that licence and delete your copy. A licence that covers several products passes on as one licence.
Maintain
Maintain is a yearly subscription. It renews automatically at the end of each year and is charged again until you cancel.
We email you a reminder 28 days before each renewal charge, with the amount, the date and how to cancel.
You can cancel at any time in the customer portal, or by writing to hello@dossierforge.com. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. Maintain keeps working until then.
To cover fewer products from the next renewal, write to hello@dossierforge.com before the renewal date. The charge and the number of products stay the same until then.
Before a material change to Maintain takes effect, such as a new price, we email you in time to cancel before you are charged on the new terms.
Bought on an invoice, Maintain runs for the year that invoice names and renews only when you pay a new invoice.
Your One-time payment toward Maintain
Your full EUR 299 One-time payment counts toward your first Maintain year until the last day its rules can make final documents. That date is shown before you pay and confirmed in your licence email. The credit can be used once.
For Maintain bought on an invoice, the credit is a line on that invoice until the same date, whether you bought your One-time licence through the checkout or on an invoice.
Security updates
Skoft Software handles vulnerabilities in DossierForge and its components and supplies security updates for five years from the date of your order. They are free of charge, whatever your licence state. You get them by installing the latest version.
If something does not work
Report a defect through Settings, Feedback in the app or by email to hello@dossierforge.com. Skoft Software fixes it. If we cannot make DossierForge work for your product, we refund your purchase.
Liability
Skoft Software is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as fines, penalties, lost profit, lost data or lost business. You stay responsible for your own dossier under the Cyber Resilience Act and for having it checked.
For any other loss, the liability of Skoft Software is limited to the amount you paid Skoft Software in the 12 months before your claim.
These limits do not apply to loss caused by Skoft Software's intent or deliberate recklessness, to product liability towards a person who is injured, or to any other liability the law does not allow to be limited.
Sanctions
You confirm that neither your business nor anyone who owns or controls it is on an EU sanctions list. You will not use DossierForge in Russia, Belarus, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Crimea, Sevastopol or the other regions of Ukraine that Russia occupies. You will not pass it on to anyone there.
Skoft Software does not sell DossierForge to a buyer in Iran, Syria or North Korea, or for use there.
Skoft Software may refuse or stop supply where sanctions law requires it.
Skoft Software may refuse a licence check, or a request to updates.skoft.app for a download, an update, the rules or a security notice, that comes from a connection in Russia, Belarus, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Crimea, Sevastopol, or the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson or Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine. A connection does not show which part of those four regions it comes from. If you use DossierForge elsewhere, or in the part of those regions that Ukraine's government controls, write to hello@dossierforge.com. A person checks and can clear your licence check.
This clause applies whatever else these terms promise, security updates included.
Law and courts
Dutch law governs these terms and every contract made under them.
